Double Bass Day

One-day workshop for female and non-binary double bass players aged 8-25 years old which will include ensemble playing, learning new techniques on the bass, a panel discussion for the senior group and a short sharing performance at the end. Register through the RCM by clicking the 'RSVP' button.

About the event
Participants will be split into two groups - Juniors ~Grade 1-5, and Seniors Grade 6+. We ask that students have been playing for at least one year and can bring their own bass. There is free parking on Prince Consort Road on Sundays, and we also have some funds to help with travel costs. Email largeandshiny@gmail.com and let us know how we can help. Josie joined the BBC Symphony Orchestra in 2019 and she continues to freelance with many of the UK's finest orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia and English National Opera.
She has worked with conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Bernard Haitink and Pierre Boulez.
