Double Bass Day 2026

One-day workshop for female and non-binary double bass players aged 8-18 years old which will include ensemble playing, learning new techniques on the bass, a panel discussion for the senior group and a short sharing performance at the end.

About the event
Participants will be split into two groups - Juniors ~Grade 1-5, and Seniors Grade 6+. We ask that students have been playing for at least one year and can bring their own bass. There is free parking on Prince Consort Road on Sundays.

Carina Cosgrave

Carina works internationally as a bass player, specialising in historically informed performance practice. She is Principal Bass with The Sixteen Orchestra and regularly appears as guest principal with ensembles including Vox Luminis, the Dunedin Consort, and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
